Eligibility requirements for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) are based on income, household size, available resources and responsibility for payment of home energy cost. Everyone who resides under the same utility service address must apply together. If you or anyone resides in your home are a Native American, you may apply for energy assistance through DHS or with your tribe, but you cannot receive assistance from both during the same Federal Fiscal Year.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) will begin taking applications on Tuesday, June 16th, 2020 for Summer Cooling online at
www.okdhslive.org. If you are in need of assistance with your main cooling utility bill, you are encouraged to apply online
Many households receiving public assistance through DHS have been preauthorized for summer cooling assistance and will not need to apply. Preauthorized households have already been notified of their eligibility by letter.
