This is a voucher respite payment program for
caregivers caring fulltime for children or adults with developmental
disabilities. The program funds respite vouchers paid directly to a provider
for a temporary break, rest or relief from full time care for a fulltime
caregiver of an individual with developmental disabilities. A yearly
application is required including the most recent federal income tax return,
and an assessment/evaluation dated within the past 12 months. Respite care
providers must be over age 18 and must live in residence separate from the respite
caregiver and care receiver. The family income cannot exceed $60,000 per
year. Respite care receivers cannot be receiving DDS Waivered Services.

What to Bring:
Respite voucher applications are considered in chronological order of receipt of a completed application. DDS provides a written determination to the applicant within 60 calendar days.
