The AA is finalizing a process whereby the provider will no longer need to both enter demographic changes in AuthentiCare and also submit a Provider Communication for the same purpose. The AA intends to use an AuthentiCare data report to extract demographic updates entered by the provider. A bulletin will be sent out in the near future to announce when providers can stop submitting Provider Communications for demographic changes. At this time, this document continues to be required.
It is essential that providers use a singular approach when entering demographic updates to assure the AA will make the correct and intended changes as AuthentiCare allows multiple options for entering demographic data.
The following tables identify how the demographic fields are to be updated:
Provider agency staff should immediately begin to enter demographic updates as prescribed in the tables above. Failure to enter demographic changes in this manner may result in erroneous data being entered into the ADvantage system and may potentially disrupt Member services. Please ensure all staff adhere to this protocol.
