Program Information

Cash and medical assistance are provided to eligible refugees for up to 8 months after they arrive in the United States. A refugee is an individual granted refugee status by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (Link opens in new window).

Cash is provided through Oklahoma Catholic Charities. Medical assistance is provided through the SoonerCare (Medicaid) program.

OKDHS also administers federal social service grants for refugees, monitoring provider contracts in Oklahoma City and Tulsa for employment services, English language training and social adjustment services.
