Establish a Child Support Order

Parents have a legal duty to provide financial support for their children. The court may order a parent who does not have custody of a child to make monthly payments for the child’s living and medical expenses. These payments are called child support. The amount of child support is based on the Oklahoma child support guidelines law.

Information needed to calculate the amount of child support include the number of children, court-ordered child support paid by either parent to another family, other children of the parents, amount of income for each parent, child care expenses and medical costs. The support order established through OCSS will include a provision for immediate income withholding and medical support.
