2004-2006 New Hire Reporting Statistics

New Hire Reporting Employer Outreach Program shows a 75 percent increase in new hire reports over the last two years.

In 2005 and 2006, the New Hire Employer Outreach Program showed a 31 percent increase in reports due to a variety of outreach activities. Besides going to state-wide conferences and conventions, people from the program went to libraries, and to chambers of commerce across the state and distributed educational packets and provided presentations to Lions' Clubs, Rotary Clubs and chambers of commerce.

The outreach program is a joint effort between OKDHS Oklahoma Child Support Services (OCSS) and the University of Oklahoma OUTREACH Center for Public Management. The two, along with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) educate new employers by sending them educational packets when they register with the commission.

This program, called “Right from the Start,” sends about 800 of the packets each month to new employers in Oklahoma.
