The Oklahoma Pinnacle Plan Update - Week of May 1, 2012

Updated version

After the first submission, OKDHS and the Legislative Work Group have been working with the co-neutrals on revisions. Pinnacle Points 1 and 4 have the most changes, but all points have been revised. The process has been very helpful for OKDHS staff as we have really thought more about the changes we all want to see in Oklahoma’s child welfare program. See Revised Draft Dated 5-1-2012  (.pdf, 39 pp, KB).

Next Steps

By May 14, 2012, the co-neutrals will either endorse or not endorse the Pinnacle Plan. If endorsed, we will begin working on baselines and metrics over the next 75 days. If not endorsed, we will continue revisions until we have a plan that everyone agrees will bring about the changes needed. OKDHS leadership is encouraged by the process and looks forward to working through the changes over the next few months.

Child Welfare Staff and External Stakeholders

The Pinnacle Plan is still in draft form so please be patient. As quickly as possible, we will be returning to the field and setting up workgroups to get started on implementation. We need your input into that process. The Pinnacle Plan sets a vision and articulates initiatives, but implementation strategy and effectiveness are keys to success.
