Adult Protective Services: Bring Life Back In
Quick Links
Oklahomans Today: Mary

I want to express my gratitude for the involvement of your APS worker in the life of my elderly aunt. I called APS when I hadn’t been able to contact my aunt for a couple of days, and the worker arrived at her house only to find that she had fallen.

My aunt was severely dehydrated and barely conscious, and when she was examined at the hospital, we learned she had broken her hip. Had it not been for the quick response of the APS worker, she surely would have died.

My aunt is now in rehab, and is expected to go back to her home this week. With the help of APS and the hospital, we’ve arranged for home care workers and have been able to clean her house up and make it safe for her to stay in.

Since I live out-of-state, I would not have been able to do all this myself. Thank you for all you do!

From Mary, an APS client’s niece
