Dear Specialized Foster Care Provider:

RE: Rate increase

Effective August 16, 2006, the rate for Specialized Foster Care Adult (S5140) and Specialized Foster Care Child (S5145) will be increased to a per diem rate of $50.00. New service authorizations (“PB” numbers) will not be issued for DDSD waiver services for these procedure codes.  Please be advised that dates of service on claims should not span August 16, 2006.  Instead, claims for dates of service through August 15, 2006 should end on August 15, 2006 and new claims should be submitted for dates of service on or after August 16, 2006 in order for the appropriate rate to be paid.  Any billings submitted for services at the previous rate on or after the effective date of the increase will be paid at the lower rate.

For state funded Specialized Foster Care services, new service authorizations (“MC” numbers) will be issued at the new rate for services.  Providers will be sent the new authorizations as soon as they are issued.
