Where to Obtain Fingerprinting Services

Where are fingerprinting services available?

Most police departments and sheriff offices will fingerprint foster and adoptive family applicants. But since they are not required by law to do so, it is advised the applicant call ahead for details such as availability and cost.

A few OKDHS offices provide fingerprint services; foster care and adoptive workers can let you know if this service is available within the county.

Fingerprints may be scheduled at the Community Intervention Center (CIC) by calling (405) 528-2884 for an appointment. The facility address is:

Community Intervention Center
201 N.E. 50th Street
Oklahoma City, OK  73105-1811

The CIC is located in the Youth Services for Oklahoma County, Inc. building. The entrance is on the west side of the building and is clearly visible by a blue awning. CIC visitor parking is available.

What is the Community Intervention Center?

The Oklahoma City/County Community Intervention Center is the facility where law enforcement officers bring juveniles who have been charged with a crime. The staff of the CIC processes the juveniles so the officers can return to patrol duties quickly.

What should I expect when I arrive?
The CIC is a secure facility. Once inside the building, press the button on the white box to speak to staff. Someone will respond quickly. One person at a time will be taken to the fingerprint area. For security reasons, no person may enter with a purse, bag or package of any kind. Please leave these items in your locked vehicle.

What information do I need to bring?
Bring current photo identification, such as a valid driver’s license or government issued ID and a form of payment.

Are children allowed to be present?
Children are not allowed in the fingerprint area, and there are no child care services available. For this reason, CIC requests that children not accompany applicants to the facility. If children must accompany an applicant -- a second adult must be present to supervise the children.

When are these services available?
Fingerprint services are available Sunday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Is an appointment necessary?
You must call ahead for an appointment. Please call (405) 528-2884 for an appointment. This allows the staff to serve you as quickly as possible.

Will I have to wait?
The CIC is a secure facility, and strict policies must be followed. Normal activities at the center must take precedence over all other services offered at the CIC. If there is a large group of juveniles being processed, foster and adoptive family applicants may be asked to remain in the reception area for awhile. Be assured, the CIC staff will accommodate the fingerprint process as quickly as possible.

What is the cost?
The cost is $15 per set of fingerprints per person.

What is an acceptable method of payment?
The only forms of payment accepted will be cashier’s check, money order, or OKDHS Fingerprint Authorization Voucher for each applicant. For example, a couple arriving to be fingerprinted should each have their own separate form of payment, (2 money orders, 2 cashier’s checks or 2 vouchers.)  Cash, personal checks and credit cards will not be accepted for payment.

Who is the payee for cashier's checks and money orders?
The payee is Youth Services of Oklahoma County, Inc. or Y.S.O.C.

Will I receive copies of the fingerprint cards?
Once fingerprints are taken, CIC will return the completed cards to the applicant, to take for processing.

What happens if the fingerprint cards are rejected?
If the fingerprint cards taken by CIC are rejected by OSBI and/or FBI, the applicant may return to CIC with the rejected set of fingerprint cards to be reprinted at no charge. Once reprints are taken, the applicant will be given the 2 new fingerprint cards as well as the 2 rejected fingerprint cards.
