Child Care Licensing

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) is responsible for implementing the Oklahoma Child Care Facilities Licensing Act. The act mandates a license be obtained from the Department to provide care for children away from their own homes. This includes any public or private residential facility, child placing agency, foster family home, group home, child care center, part-day child care program, family child care home or large family child care home providing either full-time or part-time care for children away from their own homes.
