Aging Services Division

 

  • The Aging Services Division (ASD) helps develop systems to support independence and protect the quality of life of older persons and promotes citizen involvement in  planning and delivering services;
  • ASD builds coalitions with local agencies, businesses and communities to develop employment and volunteer programs for older Oklahomans, targeting senior citizens as both providers and recipients;
  • ASD promotes health care accessibility through annual advocacy campaigns to address issues of elderly Medicaid recipients, case management for Medicaid recipients over age 60 and health promotion campaigns; and
  • ASD works to improve services to the elderly through seeking additional revenue resources, public/private partnerships and quality assurance and monitoring activities.

 

Family Support Services Division

  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance;

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

 

Developmental Disabilities Services Division

 

  • The Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD) provides services to persons ages 3 and up who have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. Persons served may also have other developmental disabilities in addition to mental retardation such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, etc.;
  • DDSD offers a wide array of services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Services are individualized to meet each person's needs. DDSD services are funded through Medicaid Home and Community-Based Waivers (HCBW) and through state funds; and
  • The area office provides case management, service coordination, monitoring, provider recruitment and resource development The state office staff provides direction and support to the area offices. All community services are delivered through contracts with private agencies and individuals.
