The Practice and Policy Lecture Series has been developed to provide thought-provoking presentations on Oklahoma's emerging policy issues, trends and best practices. The series is sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Planning, Research and Statistics and the University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management with the goal of providing the best educational opportunities available in a forum that offers participants an opportunity to question, share and learn from each other.

Sherry A. Blazi, MSW


Sherry A. Blazi received her master of social work degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1983. Blazi is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, National Association of Social Workers and is a licensed clinical social worker in Oklahoma. Blazi has worked with young children and their families for the past 35 years. Currently, Blazi is the social work consultant and technical supervisor for the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s SoonerStart/Early Intervention Program, and Clinical Social Worker for the Oklahoma County SoonerStart Team. In this position, she works with children from birth to three years who have delays/disabilities and their families providing home-based services. In addition, Blazi is the current President of the Oklahoma Association for Infant Mental Health.
