Caletta McPherson began her duties as Deputy Commissioner for Substance Abuse Services at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Sept. 4, 2007. She is a native Oklahoman, with more than 25 years of experience in the area of social services, primarily in substance abuse and mental health services.
Before assuming the deputy commissioner position at ODMHSAS, McPherson served as CEO/President of CARE for Change, Inc., Outpatient Substance Abuse Services, located in Oklahoma City, for approximately 10 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. McPherson is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Adjunct Professor in African and African-American Studies at the University of Oklahoma.
