| Marcia Baker Smith |
Marcia Baker Smith is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, the membership organization of domestic violence and sexual assault service providers. She received her BA from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is a Certified Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Professional.
Marcia began her work in the field of violence against women at Poteau, OK in 1993, where she managed a 14 bed shelter facility. She has been with OCADVSA since 1997.
She is a founding member of the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board and State Sex Offender Management Team. She is the Governor’s appointee to the Interstate Compact on Offender Management and sits on the OSDH Prevention Advisory Council, OK Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board, OK Child Abuse Training and Coordination Council, and the OK STOP VAWA Funding Board.
She has successful trained hundreds of law enforcement officers and thousands of advocates during her career. Most recently she participated in National Sexual Assault Conference, Delta Prep Intervention Summit, national invitation only Immigration Summit, She participates nationally with the National Sexual Assault Resource Sharing Project, the National Network to End Domestic Violence and National Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
Marcia was recognized as an Olympic Torch Bearer in 1996, and has received the Latino Community Development Agency Partnership Award, Oklahoma Bar Association Liberty Bell Award, OCADVSA Ann Lowrance Award, and the Zonta of Central Oklahoma Woman of the Year Award.
