Many Oklahoma families have become more economically independent with OKDHS job training and improved education services. The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program provides these services to parents for the purpose of improving their employment opportunities. Since welfare reform, the number of adults participating in this program has declined. In addition to employability services, families may also receive other services such as substance abuse prevention and treatment, relationship skills training, financial planning and parenting skills.
