(a) Medical and health care. Each group home maintains access to a licensed physician, clinic, or hospital for 24-hour emergency services as well as routine medical services. Access to dental services is provided. As legal custodian of the residents, the Department of Human Services (DHS) has authority to provide consent for medical services. [10 O.S. § 7003-7.1 and 7004-1.1A.1(f)] • 1 The resident's Child Welfare (CW) worker is notified of all medical treatment required by the resident.
(b) Emergency medical services. First aid supplies are available in the group homes. Each group home has written emergency medical plans which are communicated to the staff and residents of the group homes during their respective orientations to the home.
(c) Administration of medication. All medications are secured and under the supervision of designated group home staff. Designated staff dispenses all medication. Each group home has written procedures for the administration, monitoring, storing, and disposal of all medications. [OAC 340:110-3-154.3(e)] • 2
