Samantha Galloway has been selected as the new Coordinator for the Office of Intergovernmental Relations and Policy (OIRP). That office coordinates the agency’s administrative rule making and coordinates legislative activities for OKDHS. A new responsibility to OIRP will be the oversight and support of the new statutorily-created advisory panels.
“I am very excited to serve with the new administration of OKDHS,” Galloway said. “I look forward to helping improve the services we provide for Oklahoma’s children and vulnerable adults.”
Galloway began her career at OKDHS as a developmental disabilities case manager in Canadian County in 2005. Since 2008, she has been the Legislative and Administrative Rules Liaison for the Developmental Disabilities Services Division of OKDHS.
Prior to OKDHS, she served as the Executive Director of Washington Economic Development in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Upon moving to Oklahoma in 2003, she served as Director of Community Services at Okarche’s Center of Family Love, an OKDHS contract provider for people with developmental disabilities.
Galloway has a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Southeastern Louisiana University, and she assumed her new duties in OIRP on January 8.
Additionally, Shirley Russell and Dena Thayer will continue to serve as Programs Administrators for OIRP. Administrative support for OIRP and Support Services Division will be Mickey Morgan.
