October is Domestic Violence (DV) Awareness Month. Help raise awareness by joining the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) for the annual DV Awareness Walk and Wreath of Hope Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 12.
The walk will begin at 10 a.m. on the State Capitol south lawn. Immediately following the walk, everyone is invited to attend the Wreath of Hope Ceremony taking place at 10:30 a.m.
DHS encourages everyone to wear purple each Thursday throughout October to show support for victims and survivors of domestic violence. To learn more about domestic violence, visit the Purple Ribbon website.
If you are a victim of domestic violence or know someone who is, call the 24-hour Safeline at 1-800-522-SAFE (7233).
