Waiting Child Heart Gallery Exhibit Opens Tuesday

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Waiting Child Heart Gallery (WCHG) will be on exhibit Tuesday, September 27, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at The Oklahoma Aquarium, 300 Aquarium Drive in Jenks.  The WCHG is sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Foundation and KTUL-TV, Oklahoma’s NewsChannel 8.

The first Heart Gallery opened in 2001.  It is a series of beautiful black and white images of children in state care, and is designed to help them find a loving, permanent home.

NewsChannel 8 has aired its weekly “Waiting Child” program since 1980, and as a result has seen more than 4,000 children adopted during that time. Currently more than 2,000 children are awaiting adoption.  Tuesday's event will be an evening of fine art photography, entertainment and mingling with both the children and photographers.

For more information on WCHG, phone Natalie Green at (918) 742-0500 or by email at Natalie@aperturesphoto.com.
