OKDHS Staff Member, Rebecca Buswell Commended for Outstanding Service

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Commission for Human Services today recognized Oklahoma Department of Human Services employee Rebecca Buswell for her outstanding service to the citizens of Oklahoma.

Buswell, an AIDS/HIV case manager, received the honor during the Commission’s monthly meeting in Oklahoma City.

The commendation was presented by Richard L. DeVaughn, DDS, chairman of the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services and Howard H. Hendrick, director of OKDHS.

Buswell helped an unresponsive client she had agreed to transport to a medical appointment. When Buswell arrived at the client’s home, he did not answer the door indicating a potentially serious problem. With the help of the police, they entered the home where they found the client alive but in need of medical attention. Buswell provided emergency responders and the hospital with her client’s medical history in order to get him the care he needed.
