Clancy to Discuss Benefits of Early Childhood Education

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL – Gerard Clancy, M.D., president, University of Oklahoma-Tulsa will open a dialog on new insights that will guide the future of early childhood programs at noon, Oct. 7 in the Chesapeake Room of the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr., Oklahoma City.

Clancy will discuss new advances in understanding brain development and brain imaging of children. In 2006, Clancy was named president of the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. He serves on numerous community boards in the Tulsa area, and continues to teach and see patients regularly.

All lectures are sponsored by Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Planning, Research and Statistics and University of Oklahoma Center for Public Management. In addition, this lecture is sponsored by OKDHS Oklahoma Child Care Services. This yearlong series provides thought-provoking presentations by experts in their fields on Oklahoma’s emerging policy issues, trends and best practices. The lectures are free and open to the public. Lunch is now available for purchase at the Oklahoma History Center.

The next lecture will feature George E. Young Sr., commissioner, Oklahoma Commission for Human Services, discussing Customer Service-Meeting Needs, Nov. 19.
