Hudson Receives Spirit of Service Award from Commission

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL—Deborah R. Hudson, information systems planning specialist IV, was the recipient of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Commission Spirit of Service Award. Hudson was nominated for her work in implementing a mentoring program between OKDHS employees and students at Jackson Middle School.

“Over the past two years, Deb has coordinated an average of 22 volunteer mentors who spend an hour each week working directly with students,” stated Hudson’s nomination form.

The Spirit of Service Award was initiated by the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services in an effort to recognize outstanding employees or employee teams who embody customer service and exemplify excellence, respect, knowledge, resourcefulness, kindness, availability, compassion and helpfulness. Nominations are sent in by OKDHS staff for consideration by the Commission, and one team or individual is recognized in their hometown on a monthly basis.
