TOMORROW: Governor to Sign OKDHS/Feed The Children Make A Difference Day Proclamation

OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- Gov. Brad Henry will sign a proclamation designating Oct. 27 as Oklahoma Department of Human Services/Feed The Children Make a Difference Day at 2 p.m. on Sept. 19 in the Blue Room of the State Capitol.

House representatives from each county participating in the food drive initiative will also attend the signing.

OKDHS, the County Administrators Association and Feed The Children launched the Make a Difference – Feed Oklahoma campaign to increase awareness and provide food to Oklahoma’s hungry. OKDHS staff across the state have held fundraisers and solicited donations to raise funds for Feed The Children to provide semi-trailer trucks full of food and personal care items to several locations around the state. The food will be distributed statewide Thursday, Oct. 25, and Friday, Oct. 26, to celebrate Make A Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 27.
