OKLAHOMA CAPITOL -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) Aging Services Division announced the application period is open for the $535,908 in state funds to supplement and expand the federally-funded National Senior Corps programs in the state. Currently 22 programs receive funding in Oklahoma.
Programs funded through the National Senior Service Corps include: Foster Grandparent Programs, Senior Companion Programs and Retired Senior Volunteer Programs. Applicants for the state funds must already be an approved program funded through the Corporation for National and Community Services Senior Corps. Application must be made in writing and in accordance with established state and federal guidelines.
