Installation of Cisco VPN Client
The Cisco VPN client is an interim solution. It will be replaced by Juniper in an upcoming phase of the Mobility Project. The old Nortel VPN client must be removed before installation of the Cisco VPN client. This document contains instructions on removal of the Nortel VPN Client, installation of the new Cisco VPN Client, and connecting to the OKDHS network once installed.
A VPN client is required in order to connect to the OKDHS network through an internet connection external from the OKDHS network. This client will not function if you are already connected to the OKDHS network.
(This installation also requires that the logged on user has local administrator privileges on the workstation. If you are not an administrator on the workstation, call the Data Services Division (DSD) Help Desk at (405) 325-8400 local, or 1-(800)-522-0223 statewide, and have them put you in “Mr. Fixit.”)

- One is labeled “Cisco VPN client for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista”
- The other is labeled “Cisco VPN configuration file”
Copy both of these files to the folder “C: \VPN Deployment Package.” You will need to remember and define the path to this same folder during configuration later during step 3.
Open the folder “C: \VPN Deployment Package.”
The folder will now contain the files vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.01.0600.k9.exe and OKDHS-IPSec.pcf.
