Developmental Disabilities Services Div.: Southern Okla. Resource Cntr
Unit Information

The Southern Oklahoma Resource Center (SORC) in Pauls Valley is a residential and habilitative facility, that is also classified as an intermediate care facility for persons with mental retardation (ICF/MR). The majority of the persons who live at SORC have severe or profound mental retardation as well as other disabling conditions.

The primary mission is to provide services that enhance the development of each individual and to provide opportunities that promote personal growth and independence.

As a community resource, licensed professionals working at SORC also provide a variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities who do not live on campus. Families and other community agencies bring individuals to the center for vocational services, dental services, and therapeutic services such as speech, occupational and physical therapies.
