Developmental Disabilities Services Div.: Medical Services Unit
Unit Information
This unit is dedicated to ensuring that each person receiving services from the Division has access to the same medical and health related services available to every other Oklahoman.
Medical and health related services are available for people receiving Home and Community- Based Waiver (HCBW) services beyond those that are available through the regular Medicaid state plan. Included are dental examinations and prophylaxis, psychiatric examinations and treatment, skilled nursing services and nutrition services.
The Medical Services administrative unit is comprised of the State Medical Director, State Nursing Director, and Administrative Assistant. A key and strong component of the Medical Services Unit is the medical services staff located throughout the state within each of the three Areas.
Medical Services routinely conducts training on policy and procedures. Consults with staff, provider agencies and others to ensure the effectiveness of medical and health related services for those we serve.
