The meeting was called to order by Marcellius Bell. Wanda Felty called the roll. Members present were: Marcellius Bell, Wanda Felty, Eddie Miller, Ken Talley, Katie Kissinger, Terry Trego, John Gajda, Teri Eggner, Freda Cowart, Rene’ Daman, Dyann Arnett, Cassell Lawson, John Corpolongo, and Tori Collier. Absent were: David Svedman, Lance Davis, Kim Beach, Dee Blose, Theresa Flannery, Nina Honeyman, Melissa Middleton, and Valerie Williams.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved (10-12-10).
Comments from Jim Nicholson, DDSD Director
Jim gave a presentation regarding the recently completed Waiting List Study. He recently gave this same presentation to the Commission at their March meeting. He explained the history of the waiting list, and changes to our programs over the years. He also explained the purpose of the recent survey, who administered the survey, and how the information was analyzed.

Self Directed Services Presentation
Becky Palmer gave a brief presentation about the IHSW Self Directed Services
option.
Review of Administrative Rules Process
Samantha Galloway gave a presentation explaining the administrative rules
process, including timelines for approvals/disapprovals by each entity.

Terry Trego, chair of the policy sub-committee, presented the following slate of proposed DDSD Administrative Rules.

Nominating Committee
Wanda Felty, Cassell Lawson and Eddie Miller were selected to serve on the
Nominating Sub-committee for election of new officers. Their recommended slate of officers will be presented at the May 10, 2011 meeting.
Committee Comments/Suggestions
Wanda Felty stated she’d like this committee to host a Listening Session at the
2012 Governor’s Conference.
Tori Collier enjoyed the SDS presentation at today’s meeting and would like to
see presentations on other DDSD services at future meetings.
Marcellius Bell would like to see a presentation on Human Rights Committees at
a future meeting.
