The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) FamilyStart program is an innovative team of advocates developing partnerships and identifying tools and resources for early-intervention to strengthen fragile families in Oklahoma.
Goals:
- To improve long-term outcomes for children by providing services to fragile families which help preserve the family structure and keep both parents involved in the child’s life;
- Provide child support services (paternity establishment and child support order establishment) when appropriate;
- Provide social service referrals, including employment, housing, OKDHS benefits, transportation, education and other services when appropriate; and
- Provide case management and follow-up.
