The Business/Finance Unit of the Office of General Counsel Legal Division provides services primarily to the Finance Division and the Contracts and Purchasing Unit.

However, services are provided to every division within the Oklahoma Department of Human Services when it pertains to procurement of goods and services. 

Such services include but are not limited to negotiation and preparation of contracts, review of contracts, memoranda of understanding, invitations to bid and requests for proposals.

The Office of General Counsel represents OKDHS in state and federal courts in litigation arising from contracts and also represents OKDHS in most matters involving interaction with other governmental entities. 

Finally, the Legal Division also provides legal advice to the Rates and Standards Committee and attends all public meetings of standing Agency committees
