4. Terms and Definitions:
4.1. Hyper-Threading - Hyper-Threading Technology enables multi-threaded software applications to execute threads in parallel. Hyper-Threading Technology provides thread-level-parallelism (TLP) on each processor resulting in increased utilization of processor execution resources. As a result, resource utilization yields higher processing throughput.
4.2. NTFS - NTFS is a high-performance and self-healing file system proprietary to Windows XP 2000 NT, which supports file-level security, compression and auditing. It also supports large volumes and powerful storage solutions such as RAID. NTFS also has the ability to encrypt files and folders to protect sensitive data.
4.3. Threading - Threading is a performance improving method, which generally is enabled in the software by splitting instructions into multiple streams so that multiple processors can act upon them.
