Resource Unit: Tribal Foster Care Section
Section Information

The Tribal Foster Care Section is a component of the Resource Unit, Children and Family Services Division (CFSD) located in the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) State Office in Oklahoma City. Its central mission is to provide assistance to OKDHS Child Welfare staff and Tribal Child Welfare staff to ensure compliance with the federal and state Indian Child Welfare Acts.

Section personnel receive tribal home studies, set-up new tribal family resources in KIDS, process tribal foster parent contracts, and provide assistance with tribal foster care claims. The CFSD Tribal Coordinator manages the tribal state agreements with 35 Oklahoma tribes. The coordinator is also available to attend staffings, trainings and other meetings outside of the OKDHS State Office to provide consultation on individual issues that may arise.
