The Child Protective Services (CPS) Section is responsible for writing and interpreting policy pertaining to the intake, screening and investigation of child abuse and neglect reports; providing CPS consultation and training to field staff; responding to inquiries from legislative, media, public and out-of-state entities; writing and monitoring federal grants and related state contracts; administering and monitoring the Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Act (CAMA) and accompanying contracts, and conducting searches and responses to out-of-state inquiries.
