Classification and Compensation - This unit provides analysis for equity and market adjustments to DHS' salary administration plan and salary exception requests for classified, unclassified and temporary employees. They also assist offices seeking allocations, re-allocations, information regarding unemployment issues and assistance for those employees whose position requires them to file regular reports with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission.
Employee-Focused Services - The benefits section assists employees in arranging a benefits package that's right for them, from health, dental and vision insurance, to SoonerSave and more. Employee-Focused Services also coordinates many programs for our staff, including the Employee Assistance Program, education assistance, the certified public manager program, employee recognition, onboarding, the Volunteer Chaplains Service, the DHS Self-Care Initiative, and Risk and Safety Management.
Employee Relations - This unit coordinates the agency's corrective discipline, grievance and mediation programs, ensures compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), administers the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), tracks the Performance Management Process, and information pertaining to the Employee Self Services workshop and training services.
Employment Services - The Employment Services unit assists local offices with recruiting, determining applicant eligibility for positions within the classified service and job fairs.
HR Operations - In addition to processing the flow of normal personnel transactions, the HR Services unit plays an important role in building a winning workforce by helping DHS offices coordinate the announcement process.
