Unit Information

The Technology and Governance Unit (T&GU) is a program unit within the Children and Family Services Division (CFSD). The primary responsibility is to meet the technology needs of child welfare.  A Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) known as KIDS is the application used by staff statewide for case management and documenting casework.  CFSD program staff is co-located with programmers and jointly maintain and enhance the KIDS application. 

 

Other key components of T&GU include:

  • KIDS Help Desk;
  • KIDS designs;
  • KIDS testing;
  • KIDS training;
  • KIDS reports training;
  • federal reporting, including Adoption & Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), National Child Abuse & Neglect Data System (NCANDS), etc.;
  • state reporting;
  • ad hoc reporting;
  • interfaces; and
  • web pages.

 

Unit staff is involved in the agency Governance process which is used to manage Information Technology projects. Work is also underway to establish and implement enterprise architecture to improve the delivery of services to Oklahomans.
